Colorado AIDS Project | Get Involved | Volunteer Opportunities

For your convenience, you may submit a volunteer application through the link at the bottom of this page. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities at our Volunteer Orientations, normally the first Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:30 pm at the CAP office. Upcoming orientations are:

  • January 8, 2009
  • February 5, 2009

Volunteer Orientations and AIDS 101s are held on the first Thursday of every month from 5:00-7:00 p.m. E-mail ChristinaW@coloradoaidsproject.org to sign up for AIDS 101.

We welcome college students or high school seniors who need educational community service learning hours for credits toward graduation.

We DO NOT have any court-ordered community service positions at this time.

Positive Speakers Bureau

CAP is starting a Positive Speakers resource crew. CAP is seeking HIV positive individuals from a variety of backgrounds who are willing to share their story publicly.

If you would like to share your story, please call Athena at 303.837.0166 extension 316 or email AthenaL@coloradoaidsproject.org for more information.

Ongoing volunteer opportunities

The following opportunities require a regular time commitment during normal business hours. New volunteers are required to attend our Customer Service Training (offered quarterly) prior to volunteering.

Food Bank
Volunteers assist clients with weekly shopping in our Food Bank, which is open:

  • Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Fridays from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-Noon.

MSM Outreach

We need several young male volunteers to go to area bars. This is a way to promote a new 'safe sex' website and to integrate the site into the community.

Hours: At your convenience, during busy times at the bars/clubs.

Please call Matt Fischer at 303.837.0166 extension 464 or email MattF@coloradoaidsproject.org for more information.
