Elaine Torres,

Elaine D. Torres is the Manager of Community Affairs at CBS4, KCNC – TV.  She oversees the station’s community partnerships which include the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Mile High United Way, Colorado AIDS Project, the Denver Broncos, and several others.   Elaine manages special events and community campaigns such as “Qwest Spirit of the Season”, a three-hour live broadcast of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s holiday concert, High School Journalism Day, the Care 4 Colorado Toy and Food Drive, and several other community programs.  She is responsible for station sponsorships, charitable giving, and community initiatives for CBS4.

Prior to joining CBS4, Elaine worked as the Public Affairs Coordinator for the Denver Rocky Mountain News where she was responsible for charitable giving and community relations.  She also served as Co-Chair for the Denver Rocky Mountain News’ Diversity Task Force

Elaine serves on numerous community boards and committees including the Colorado AIDS Project Board of Directors, The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts Board of Directors, The Adoption Exchange Board of Directors, the National Sports Center for the Disabled Board of Trustees, Regis University’s Public Affairs Council, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science President’s Community Advisory Council, the Denver Metro Convention & Visitor’s Bureau’s Multicultural Task Force, the Colorado Non-Profit Association’s Leadership Advisory Committee, along with several others. 

Elaine was one of 20 women selected from across the country to participate in the National Hispana Leadership Institute’s 1999 leadership program.  This program included intensive training in San Juan Bautista, California; the JFK School of Government at Harvard University; the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina; and the Hispanic Congressional Caucus in Washington, D.C. 

In 1999, Elaine completed her Masters Degree in Applied Communications, with an emphasis in Marketing and Public Relations, from the University of Denver.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1993.
