Colorado AIDS Project | Board of Directors
Bob Nogueira, Board Chair
Bob joined Colorado AIDS Project’s Board in 2002 and was served as president from December 2004 through December 2007. He began volunteering with CAP in 1994 as a telephone volunteer. Since that time, he has facilitated CAP workshops, conducted outreach, coordinated walker sign-in for AIDS Walk and given time to nearly all of CAP’s other fundraisers.
Bob is a Vice President of Human Resources for Safeco Insurance in Seattle, supporting the business services organization, including sales, marketing, employee training, corporate communications and operations. Before joining Safeco in June 2007, Bob was an HR Director with Qwest Communications in Denver, leading HR for Qwest's 8,000 employee Mass Markets business unit. Qwest’s Mass Markets employees, in call centers and mall retail locations, generate more than half of the company's $14 billion in annual revenue through the sales and support of communications products and services to consumers and small business owners.
Prior to Qwest, Bob created and managed HR organizations for two Internet start-ups. He also worked for 13 years at Merrill Lynch in New York and Colorado, where he held a number of leadership roles, including managing customer service call centers and order processing, community relations, employee communications, training and human resources. Bob also served on the leadership team that developed a new operations model and consolidated Merrill Lynch operations centers across the U.S.
Bob splits his time between Denver and Seattle. He lives with his partner Jon, and their prodigal dog Chaplin, on Denver’s Cheesman Park and is an avid music fan.
